FoodCycle, the charity that aims to make food poverty, loneliness and food waste a thing of the past for every community, is in urgent need of volunteers as it opens its doors in Birmingham’s Weoley Castle area.

This marks FoodCycle’s sixth Project in Birmingham and eighth in the West Midlands. Opening on 9 August at the St Gabriels Church on Shenley Lane, the weekly free meal will provide great food and conversation every Tuesday at 4pm for anyone who wants to come along.

FoodCycle Midlands Regional Manager, Jody Beswick says: ”We are thrilled to be opening our eighth Project in the Midlands and introducing FoodCycle to the Weoley Castle community. As the rising cost-of-living continues to hit people across the country including parents just coming into the school holidays, our service is more vital than ever and we look forward to providing a welcoming space and a nutritious, three-course meal to anyone in the community who needs it, no questions asked.”
